Manager is responsible for developing and implementing merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability for the retail furniture department. This role requires a deep understanding of customer trends, product knowledge, and the ability to create visually appealing and customer-centric store environments. The Merchandising Manager will work closely with the buying team, store management, and marketing to drive sales and achieve company objectives. 

 Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising plans aligned with company goals and target market. 
  • Analyze sales data and customer trends to identify opportunities for product assortment optimization and inventory management. 
  • Collaborate with the buying team to select and procure product assortments that meet customer needs and drive sales. 
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising standards to create a compelling and customer-friendly shopping experience. 
  • Manage and train store teams on merchandising best practices, product knowledge, and visual merchandising standards. 
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and minimize markdowns. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute promotional activities and in-store displays. 
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure merchandising effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail merchandising, preferably in the furniture industry.  
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams. 
  • Proficiency in retail management software and POS systems. 

Desired Skills 

  • Knowledge of furniture industry trends and customer preferences. 
  • Experience with inventory management systems. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
